Black Bean Veggie Patties

unknown-3

I’ll keep this post simple and straight to the point.

All you need to know is what you need, how to do it, and that the end result is DELISH!

Ingredients

1 can drained and rinsed black beans

1 tbs plain greek yogurt

1 tbsp yellow mustard

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

⅓ cup instant oats

 *salt and pepper to taste*

Get creative here!
If you like chopped onions, cayenne pepper or garlic, add it! You can make these patties taste however you want! I don’t mind mine on the plain side, just so I can use them for a variety of things.

 The process…

♥ Blend your rinsed and dried beans in a food processor. If you don’t have one you can mash with a fork instead. I don’t mind it this way because they come out a little chunky, which I like!

♥ Mix in condiments and spices first and then your oats. Make sure everything is combined

♥ You could mold them into patties but I found it easier to form about 2 tablespoons of mixture into balls and flatten before placing in the oven. I just used the lid to my pepper but anything hard and flat will work!

Bake at 350-375 for 20-30 minutes, flipping half way through.

*All ovens vary!*

♥  Let cool for 5 minutes until serving.

If you want these to be crispy make extra sure you rinsed, drained and pressed the beans with a paper towel to get out as much moisture as possible!

  Different ways to consume…

  • between buns like a burger
  • with sour cream and salsa on top
  • broken into pieces on top of a salad or in a rice bowl
  • as a quick snack
  • dipped in ketchup (if your’e into that!)
  • as a bunless burger with a slice of cheese on top!
  • with hot sauce
  • partnered with sliced zucchini and feta on top
  • or simply AS IS!

Enjoy!
