With Thanksgiving right around the corner, I was willing to give this recipe a shot!
It’s true, the holidays are creeping up on us but thats no reason to allow yourself to get off track. Remember, thanksgiving is about being thankful, not about the food! Stay focused, plan your workouts, prepare your own food if necessary.
It’s okay to munch on festive treats here and there but don’t allow yourself to go all out if it doesn’t match up with your goals.
Just like these meatballs, there’s a healthy recipe out there to substitute all of your favorite guilty eats! Don’t let yourself fall into the holiday trap! You can still have a healthy Thanksgiving with yummy foods!
Thanksgiving Cranberry Meatballs
INGREDIENTS
1 pound of lean ground turkey
1/4 cup seasoned wheat breadcrumbs
1 cup oats
1/3 cup egg whites
1/2 cup shredded green apple with peel
1/4 cup craisins
1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon basil
*add any other seasonings if you please*
How To…
Preheat oven to 375 and lightly spray your baking dish. I used a mini muffin tin and piled them all on. I was honestly too lazy to find it’s twin so I made the one work!
Mix together all of your ingredients in a medium sized bowl.
Form turkey mixture into 1-2 inch balls
Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
Remove and allow to cool.
Enjoy!
