Not only do I get tired of the every week meal prep plan with meat and potatoes, so does my husband. You’re going to get burnt out on chicken, turkey, chicken, turkey, more chicken and more turkey.. That’s why we decided to switch it up and have a seafood Saturday!
The best part about preparing a dish like this is all the left overs! You can use the broth and the other ingredients for soups, on top of rice or freeze for another time!
We went back and forth a couple of times but agreed on having small red potatoes, yellow onions, corn, shrimp and turkey sausage! You can play around with this recipe by using different flavors and seasonings. We seasoned ours with old bay, dill, salt, pepper, hot sauce, and red pepper!
♥ THE PROCESS ♥
Cut up your potatoes, onions, corn and turkey sausage to desired sized pieces. Place potatoes, corn and onions in a large pot or deep cooking pan and boil with enough water to submerge ingredients. Add seasonings.
When your potatoes, onions and corn are about 7-8 minutes to being done add your turkey sausage. Once you get to about 4-5 minutes of being done then add your shrimp. The shrimp will be done super fast so be sure to take it off the heat and just let the existing heat cook the shrimp while everything will marinate in their own juices.
Enjoy this yummy goodness and the mouth watering aroma that will spread throughout your home!
