But First, Pizza!

I created this blog after I realized that I’m not the only one who constantly battles with food. Many of us from all ages, shapes, and sizes are struggling on a daily basis. I’m even thinking about food right now. At five-foot tall, I have yo-yoed with my weight for as long as I can remember. I know first hand how exhausting even thinking about the gym sounds and how gross plain chicken and veggies seem, but the hardest part is getting started! If it were easy we would all be walking around with a six-pack and Jennifer Anniston arms! It’s all hard work, preparation and patience. It was key for me to learn my weaknesses, my boundaries and most importantly my guilty pleasures to keep me on the right track. I want to help, educate and encourage anyone who feels the weight of impossibilities towards reaching their goals.

I have used every excuse in the book; so I already know all of yours. Instead of getting stuck on the why nots, it’s my purpose to get you out of your own head and push you towards the ‘I wills!’. I’m trying to make a difference to those who keep getting knocked down. I know you’re sick of being heavier and not fitting into your skinny jeans. I was too! It’s time to take a deep breath and get ready to kick some ass. From the moment you wake up, you will be faced with challenges. I’m hoping what I learned to get me through the day can be applied to your life as well. You will find yourself making healthier options and taking the extra initiative to stay active. And like it! Difficult decisions will turn into a no brainer. Your body will crave for your boring meat and potatoes and you will suddenly realize you have transformed into a fit badass! If you have to slowly separate yourself socially, then do it. If you need to take baby steps and ease your way in the gym, so be it.

Just remember it’s a lifestyle change, not a diet. Finding what works for you and what doesn’t is key to staying on the right track. They say, ‘it’s just food’, but to me it’s not. I love food and I’ll always love food. I think about food just as much as men supposedly think about sex. That’s a LOT! However, I love myself and my body more. It is my responsibility to find my balanced happy medium. I still want to enjoy my life without feeling deprived or held down by strict rules. It’s my life, my body and I want to live it up in the yummiest, healthiest way that I can!

  1. Great blog Heather and congratulations for launching this! I agree with your comments-its about a lifestyle change! I made that change when I turned 45 years old yesterday.I made a conscious decision to prioritized my health by eating more salads abd grilled chicken, even if I rarely cooked at home, I try to make a healthy meal! My bucket list of recipe is homemade low calorie mango ice cream!!!
